MIDI Board design

MIDI board design with MAX/MSP:
Inspired by the five elements of nature — Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. This project aims to bridge product design with elements of nature to inspire creators.
By bringing in natural motifs with MIDI, this product spontaneously builds an intuitive connection between the artist and the device. Additionally, the controller features with real-time audio-visualization, enabling creators to improvise sound art in the live performances, create an immersive space for the audience, and enhance their emotional engagement.
The MIDI controller is powered by arduino, an open-source electronics platform, that offers real time data communication with MAX/MSP/Jitter, a visual programming software which allows for sound mapping. Together, a cross-sensory experience is created, where touching the board, hearing the sound, seeing the visual all come to life simultaneously.
